Proposals that take place at sporting events and concerts have been occurring for quite some time now. So how about the actual wedding! This was the case for fans of Little Big Town during shows on their current tour.
Little Big Town’s Kimberly Schlapman commented, “We propped up a little white tent that had church windows and put candelabras inside with red carpet and white chairs. There were some special couples. one was a soldier and his wife who hadn’t been able to have a real wedding because every time they’d planned a ceremony, he had to go off to war.”
The stunt was part of a promotion for their first new single “Little White Church” from their upcoming new album, “The Reason Why,” which hits stores August 24, 2010.

Little Big Town was nominated for Top Vocal Group at this year’s 45th Academy of Country Music (ACM) Awards and unfortunately did not get a chance to walk across the stage. Competition was fierce including Lady Antebellum, Randy Rogers, Rascal Flatts, and the Zac Brown Band. Despite the loss, the quartet has gained steady success since their first album dropped in 2002.
At Sunday night’s award ceremony, Lady Antebellum was announced the winner for Top Vocal Group of the Year. Lady Antebellum took home 5 awards, making them then night’s top winner.
Little Big Town has little time to worry about the loss while they are gearing up for their run on this year’s Country Throwndown Tour. The tour kicks off in Tampa, FL at the Ford Amphitheater, May 14, 2010. Also performing on the tour are Montgomery Gentry, Jamey Johnson, Jack Ingram, The Lost Trailers, Emily West, and many more. The Academy of Country Music Awards has nominated Little Big Town for Top Vocal Group of the Year. LBT will be competing against Lady Antebellum, the Randy Rogers Band, Rascal Flatts and the Zac Brown Band.
The highest nominated band at this year’s 45th Annual ACM Awards is Lady Antebellum, coming in with seven nominations. Presenters and performers will be announced at a later date.
The 45th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards will be held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas at 8 p.m. ET on April 18. It will also be broadcast live by CBS.
